Dundee Park
Dundee Park is a 20 acre river front park off Presumpscot Road. It has an attractive beach and picnic area on the Presumpscot River. There is a basketball and volleyball court plus paddle boats and canoes for rent. The Park opens Memorial Day and closes September 1st. Lowell Preserve
The Lowell Preserve is a beautiful area for a morning or afternoon walk, hike or bike. This 300 acre Preserve if off Falmouth Road. Please park at the parking lot by East Fire Station. Please note that ATV’s are in operation on the trails designated for ATV’s. Hunting is also allowed on the property during hunting seasons. Deer Hollow Sanctuary
The Deer Hollow Sanctuary is a 16 acre sanctuary off Mount Hunger Shores Road. A trail leads down to Mud Pond. Great for a short hike and nature watching.
Otter Brook Sanctuary
The Otter Brook Sanctuary is a 41 acre wooded area off Rocklin Road. A trail loops in back of the subdivision for a short walk through the woods which ends back on Rocklin Road.
Chaffin Pond Preserve
The Chaffin Pond Preserve is a 123 acre parcel of land owned by the Portland Water District and leased by Town of Windham so Windham residents can enjoy this natural area in the business section of North Windham. Recreation opportunities include hiking, fishing and biking and snow shoeing. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the property. Chaffin Pond Preserve is located off Route 302 in North Windham. Take a right just before the Sherwin Williams Paint Store and park at the end of the dirt road. A trail map is available at www.windhamparksandrec.com
Mountain Division Trail
The Mountain Division Trail presently goes from Windham to Standish following the abandoned rail lines. In Windham the trail starts at the end of Gambo Road. The trail is 3.7 miles from Windham to Standish with future extensions of the trail going south to Portland and north to Fryeburg. The trail is great for walking and biking for the whole family. Parking is available at end of Gambo Road.
